With your help, we’d like to expand on the activities and resources we are able to provide!!!  We have our staple of providing lunch & learns, including continuing education credits, but there’s potential for so much more.

In efforts to keep our membership fees low while trying to expand our benefits to our members, our community, and provide a channel for locals to assist in Society level research, we will always accept donations / sponsorships; for the tax-minded people we are a non-for-profit group.

Our approach is, if you are kind enough to open your wallet then you should be able to specify how that money is spent.  If you have a specific idea, “as directed by the local board,” means we will try to incorporate your idea to the best of our abilities.  We try to communicate our current efforts, but we are still a small group and may not always have the time or enough hands to communicate everything in a timely manner; however, we will always be transparent and take the time to answer any questions you may have, just ask us.

Our accounts, and therefore options to donate / sponsor are as follows:

â–º Non-Specific:

Donations / sponsorships to the Chapter (non-specific) allow the chapter board of directors to apply the donation to the chapter or society per their discretion.

â–º local operations:

Donations / sponsorships to Chapter Operations allow the chapter board of directors to apply the donation to the chapter at their discretion; however, the funds can be only applied locally or to cover the chapter's cost of doing business (taxes, fees, required meetings).

â–º Scholarships:

Donations / sponsorships to the local Scholarship fund will go towards tuition and school related expenses.  See the link below for more information.  Our long-term goal is an endowment fund through Society which guarantees perpetual funds for a scholarship to be given as directed by the chapter; however, the buy-in is substantial and we would not be able to provide scholarships for quite some time.  Meanwhile, the chapter will make all attempts to provide a local scholarship until we reach the endowment benchmark.

â–º Member Appreciation:

Donations / sponsorships to Member Appreciation will be used as directed by the board to treat our members to something nice. â€‹Our pilot program sent some members to Painting with a Twist to celebrate International Women in Engineering Day.  We can do events for small groups, but with your help, we’d like to expand on this idea and have funds to open events to all local members and for many more days that celebrate engineering and HVAC, including "Pi-Day" and "May the Fourth"

Contact us if you’d like to treat our members to an event (there’s discussions about a sponsored social / happy hour)!

â–º developing workforce / young engineers of ashrae (yea):

Donations / sponsorships to Developing Workforce / YEA will be used similar as directed by local board similar to "Member Appreciation" but specifically towards our YEA.  Examples of how the funds could be used are, but are not limited to, supplying food and drinks for a PE study group, providing a networking event, providing assistance towards sending a local YEA to a HVAC&R workshop / ASHRAE Design Course / ASHRAE Learning Institute, or purchasing supplies for the chapter to loan out to the student members to prepare for the PE.

â–º Student activities:

Donations / sponsorships to Student Activities will be used as directed by the local board towards outreach geared towards K-College (including technical and trade schools) as they relate to HVAC&R; clarification, donation intended for tuition should use the Scholarship fund.  Examples of how the funds could be used are, but are not limited to, supplying food and drinks for a student study group or networking events including events with those already in the workforce, providing supplies for a classroom or school, purchasing supplies for the chapter to loan out to the student members to prepare for the FE.

â–º Student Branch:

Donations / sponsorships to a Student Branch will be used as directed by the specific student branch and their student branch advisor.  If the student branch is not active or does not have a student branch advisor, the local board has the option to keep the funds separate in hopes the branch reactivates or may apply the funds to other student activities. Please designate the name of the branch.

â–º aSHRAE Distinguished Lecturer (DL):

The ASHRAE DL brings an esteemed lecturer from ASHRAE’s list to the area for a lecture.  ASHRAE covers the lecturer’s travel from anywhere in the world, but the chapter must cover the costs for any venue, food, refreshments, and any lodging of and any request by the lecturer if required.  When the fund reaches a point to cover the cost to be covered by the chapter, the board will choose and submit a request for the DL in the next fall with the event to be scheduled per availability.

â–º Chapter Regional Conference (CRC) Sponsorship:

This fund is solely for when Evansville is to host a CRC.  Where we will need to provide a conference center with several rooms for regional business, workshops, and technical training.  Also included would be the lunches, dinners, hospitality event, and hospitality room.  The next event in Evansville is schedule for 2029

â–º aSHRAE society research promotion:

Society has many programs for donations, and do a lot of great things, many parallel or efforts locally but with the added category of Research.  If you want to support their efforts, you can mark your donation to the chapter to be passed along to society!
